• ISC/Special Needs Students:

Our coaches aren’t currently trained to work specifically with ISC students. This is something we’ve wanted to build into our program, but we’re not quite there yet. That said, if an ISC staff member is ever interested in joining us as a coach to support those students, we would love to make that happen!

• Accessibility and Sensory Support:

While we don’t have formal accommodations, our sessions are naturally inclusive. We focus on positive, non-competitive play, and our coaches are great at adjusting games and activities so every child can participate and have fun.

• Spanish-Speaking Staff:

Yes! We do have Spanish-speaking coaches who can help communicate with families and students as needed.

Accessibility Information

It is our goal to help make after school enrichment accessible for all students, no matter their physical or learning needs. Some of these programs have limited resources to provide this support, but it’s something we ask of each program coordinator to better understand their capabilities. Notes from several programs so far are below:

Chess Wizards

• ISC/Special Needs Students and Sensory Support:

Our programs are open to all students and we welcome those with special needs! Accommodations would be specific to each individual student. Our classes do move at a slower pace when needed, and we can adapt instruction, pairings, and activity flow to support students individually. However, we would need some guidance/assistance with managing ISC student support in a shared classroom since the instructor’s attention is distributed across the entire group. We genuinely want everyone to feel welcome to participate.

• Spanish-Speaking Staff:

Many of our staff do speak Spanish, however it is not a formal requirement for hiring.
